Mission Statement
The South County Basketball Academy strives to be the finest youth basketball league and feeder program for the South County area. The SCBA. also serves as an important fundraiser for Morgan Hill Unified Schools extracurricular programs. The SCBA, has donated over $111,000 over the last thirteen years to the Britton, Martin Murphy, Live Oak and Sobrato Basketball programs and Britton scoreboard, gym maintenance and improvements. We have created paid jobs for Morgan Hill students.
Weather Policy: If it is raining on the day of our games, with the exception of the first game of each day, the practices will be cancelled. Thus, please bring your child to their game 30 minutes before game time. The first practice of each day is always inside prior to the game.
SCBA is year-round with three basketball programs (Fall, Winter and Spring) followed by our Summer Camp for boys and girls. SCBA is basically "Saturday only" with no mandatory weekday team practices. We offer optional weeknight open gyms for $3.00 for players desiring more gym time. Our Referee program is always receiving high fan praise for their patience with the younger developing players while helping teach the more competitive minded middle and high school level players.

Why is the S.C.B.A unique?
- Balanced teams with man-to-man defense emphasized.
- High School officials who, both call and explain fouls and violations for the player's benefit.
- Separate girls’ leagues and boys’ leagues will be offered.
- Focus our players on good sportsmanship & basic fundamentals
How are the different divisons decided?
We basically divide the players by “grade level” but reserve the right to move a player to a younger or older age group. Occasionally we combined grade levels in periods of low enrollment. Division D: Grades 1 & 2 with the exceptional kindergarten age player. Division C: Grades 3 & 4; Division B Grades 5 & 6 ; Division A Grades 7 & 8 and occasional high school age player.
Basic Fee Structure:
$90.00 for a player with a SCBA jersey; $115.00 for a player needing a new jersey. $10.00 reduction for a second, third sibling, etc.
What is “team Balancing?" “Re-Evaluation” of all teams will be made after the first two league games. If the talent level of the league is not fairly balanced, players WILL BE shifted. Hopefully, we can accomplish this will least amount of stress. All players who register will agree to “team balancing”. When do we pick up our jersey? New Players will pick their jersey during the clinic.
