Division A & B Rules


Division D Rules


  • We use the NFHS rules book as the foundation of SCBA rules.

  • Defense: Divisions A & B: Week one & two: 1st half: Man to Man 2nd half: HS Rules Week Three: & beyond: High School rules.

  • Divisions C & D- Man to man only. .

  • Full Court pressing rules A and B Divisions full court press at anytime unless they are ahead by ten points or more C divisions may press in the 4th quarter D Division- No full court press is allowed If a team is ahead by 10 or more points, they must call off the press.

  • Timing- Eight minute running quarters. Clock is stopped at the four-minute mark of the first three-quarters for substitutions. The clock is stopped for times out, injuries, the organization of free throw shooting and the last minute of the 4th quarter

  • Each team has Two 30-second times out in the each half and they do not carry over.

  • Free throws- If a player is fouled in the act of shooting he/she shall be awarded one point and must shoot the second If a team has committed seven or more fouls, one point will be awarded on a common foul and she/he must shoot the second THIS APPLIES UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE OF THE GAME OR OVERTIME. DURING THE LAST MINUTE OF THE GAME, THE PLAYER MUST SHOOT ALL OF THE FREE THROW ATTEMPTS.

  • Both the C and D Divisions will shoot free throws from Twelve feet from the backboard.

  • No player is disqualified for five fouls. If a player with five fouls commits additional fouls its considered a technical full..

  • Mandatory substitution every four minutes of the quarters 1, 2 and 3. including the playoffs No exceptions! The fourth quarter is free sub at a stoppage of play. Violation of this rule will cause forfeiture of the game. If a player arrives after the game has started he/she will be assigned next available sub. number and will sub into the game numerically.

  • Overtime period- The first overtime period will be two minutes in length. If a second OT is necessary, it will be one minute in length. The third and any subsequent OT period will be sudden victory. The overtime period is the extension of the of the fourth quarter.

  • Playoffs: Overtime period- The first overtime period will be two minutes in length. If a any additonal overtimes are necessary, it will be one minute in length. T. The overtime period is the extension of the of the fourth quarter.

  • Double teaming the ball is discouraged . A defensive player must actively guard their player.

  • Teams should shoot at the basket away from their bench in the first half.

  • When the teams are playing side ways in the main gym, the in-bounder may step on the floor, his/her teammates and defenders must be behind the green line before the pass is released. If either squad has 11 or more players, the game will be extended to 5 periods. In this case halftime will be held at the end of the third quarter. In any game no halftime breaks unless time permits.

  • Auditorium basket heights: D League- 8 feet; C league: 9 feet.
